About the group:  The Tubby Memorial Group, also previously known as the "Thursday Senior Group", is a group of golfers that play on Thursday mornings.  Back in 2007, Tubby Robertson was a regular golfer in the group.  In early 2008 he passed away.  After his passing, the group voted to change the name in memory of Tubby.

When does the group play?:  Tee times are scheduled between 8:15am and 9:00am on Thursday mornings.  We ask that everyone who wishes to play on a given Thursday to be here by 8:15am.  Anyone who cannot make it by then needs to call the golf course at (804)226-1793 by 8:15am to let the guys who run the group know that you are coming. Still be here by 8:30 at the latest so that we can get you with a group.

What kind of game is it?:  It cost $17 to enter the game.  The $17 breakdown is as follows.  $10 goes to Big Ball, which is team when you are put on a team and we payoff half of the teams that are playing at the conclusion of play.  $5 goes to Cuts, which is won when you are the only birdie on a hole.  $2 goes to Closest to the Pin, which there are four contests.  Amounts of payoffs will vary based on the number of players playing.

What is the format?:  Modified Scramble.  Which means everyone in your foursome plays their own ball after a preferred drive is chosen.  All players must play their own ball throughout the entire hole on all par 3's.  When joining a group before you play, be sure to include someone who can hit the ball pretty far.  You can create your own foursome.

Prizes:  Cash prizes will be awarded for half of the winning Big Ball teams (Ex. - If there are 8 teams, then 4 get paid), all players who win cuts (All money in cuts will be divided by how many cuts are won to determine payoff), and players who won closest to the pin contests.

Our end of the year Christmas Party will take place on Thursday, December 17, 2009.  Everyone who has played in the group one time or more is welcome to attend.  Food will be served.....and PLENTY OF IT!
