Important Announcements

A new local rule for Association tournaments was approved at the Fall Business Meeting and implemented during our year-end tournaments in 2009.  Members who are age 70 or older, and who have a handicap of 12 or higher, are now eligible to play from forward (red) tee markers during Association events.

There will be a new Senior Division in the Club Championship for 2010.  Senior members (age 50 or older) may elect to compete in this Division and play from the Senior (white) tee markers.  Competitors in this Division will not be eligible for prizes awarded in the Club Championship proper.  Trophies will not be awarded in the Senior Division, but gift certificate prizes will be awarded based upon net scores.

The team entry fee for the Member-Guest tournament has been increased to $90 for 2010.

Our past practice of allowing members to enter team events after teams have been assigned has sometimes resulted in inequities of team strength based upon handicap.  For 2010, in an effort to correct this problem for tournaments in which teams are paired by computer, players who sign up after teams and tee times are posted will be placed on a waiting list and will be assigned to a team only if equity of team strength can be preserved.

The  Posting Season for the (GHIN) is year round. Association members are reminded to post all scores. The officers reserve the right to post an even par 71 as a substitute for unposted scores.

Seeking New Members

In an effort to increase our membership numbers for 2010, the Association is offering the following incentive discounts on annual dues:

  1. We are continuing the discount offer on first-year dues for new members. Applicants who were not members in 2009 will be offered a $10 discount on their first-year Association membership fee.
  2. To encourage current members to recruit new members, we are also offering a $10 rebate on membership renewals for each referral of a new member who joins the Association in 2010. (This offer does not apply to the recruitment of new half-year members or handicap-service-only members.)
